Thanks for making a difference

Amy Bourne (NJC ‘00)

Hello from Calgary! My name is Amy Bourne, and I am an NJC grad, Class of 2000 and Honorary Chair, NJC Annual Fund 2010 – 2011. Let me tell you a little about me, and about why I’m so passionate about supporting NJC. After NJC, I went on to earn my journalism degree and work in radio and television, primarily for CHUM stations. Three years ago, I moved to Calgary and founded my own video production company, 1050 Productions. Looking back, I realize that attending NJC was one of the best decisions my parents and I ever made.

The people from Neuchatel are still some of my closest friends to this day, and it was the time at NJC that led me to go to journalism school. It was there that I realized I wanted a career that would allow me to keep traveling, exploring the world and learning new things. My NJC experience even influenced me to take advantage of an exchange semester in Australia while studying journalism. I went without hesitation and really enjoyed every moment.

Being at NJC gave me the confidence to believe I could do anything, be who I wanted to be, go anyplace in the world. That’s why, last year, when I was in a position to be able to make my first significant charitable donation, I chose to give to NJC – because of all the places I’ve been to school, it’s the one that most influenced my life today.

I directed my gift to the renovation of the sunroom in the Foyer building. I donated $10,000 to Foyer’s sunroom and with your help we will complete the project of upgrading the windows and adding heating and cooling.

I hope you will join with me in supporting this amazing place that has given us such great experiences and memories. There are many ways to make a gift to Neuchâtel Junior College. Learn how you can support NJC today.
